Chris Alcaraz
Chris Alcaraz is an established multi-instrumentalist who has decades of experience playing guitar, violin, and both electric, and double bass. Alcaraz attended Arizona State University on a jazz scholarship and played double bass in Arizona State’s university symphony. Chris has toured throughout Scandinavia, and for a time temporarily relocated to Finland, where he recorded his first solo album. Later Chris Alcaraz moved to London where he expanded his body of work by releasing singles “Anne” and “To Your Heart” that received national airplay on BBC Radio 2. Upon returning to The United States, Chris formed his own band and was introduced to teaching by his early mentor Bud Dimock, who also taught jazz giants Grant Geissman and Stanley Jordan.
Chris is the Bassist, Vocalist, and Musical Director for the band DURAWA, which includes the talents of Texas Music Hall of Fame drummer Ernie Durawa and guitarist Will Knaak. Alcaraz has made contributions from across the musical spectrum from rock, blues, and soul, to country, Americana, and jazz. As Chris says “The music is about peace, love, togetherness and improving the human condition. Now is the time for these messages to be heard and shared. We are all part of ‘One Human Race’ together. To survive and thrive, we have to do this together.
