Alan Haynes, born on February 19, 1956, in Houston, Texas, is a renowned American Texas blues guitarist and a protégé of Johnny Winter. With a career spanning since the 1970s, he has played with legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Albert Collins, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Residing in Austin, Texas, Haynes frequently performs in major Texas cities and Europe. He began playing guitar at eight and committed to the blues at sixteen, influenced by B.B. King, Freddie King, and Albert Collins. Haynes led the Texas Boogie Band and later his band, “Alan Haynes and the Stepchildren,” releasing notable albums like “Seventh Son” and “Wishing Well.” His style blends Texas blues with jazz and southern country, featuring clean tones and masterful slide guitar. Influenced by Johnny Winter and Albert Collins, Haynes uses vintage Strats and Fender amps to achieve his signature warm tone.
